HEY-O, MY NAME IS SAMANTHA!

I am naturally introverted, but a lot of people seem surprised when I tell them that. I am a huge fan of Harry Potter and Tangled. My favorite color is red, I almost always have a song stuck in my head, and, according to my cousins, I am particularly good at crossing my eyes.  Overthinking is a special talent of mine and I like to drink my coffee black. I have a special fondness for beautiful sentences and I love the way contemplating beautiful things points my heart back to God. My #2 rule in life is never leave the house without your journal and a good book.

My #1 rule in life? Strive to be who God meant for you to be: a saint.  Jesus is my first love and through him, I am learning to love others a little better every day.  I’m not always very great at it, but when I struggle, I lean on Jesus. His love for me is the foundation upon which my very being is built, and I know that he gives me the strength to stand firm.

These are the things that make me who I am.

I struggle every day to remember that what I do is less important than who I am.  Which is why I purposely put the “what I do” section here at the end: I graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of the Arts in Architecture in May of 2018.  Currently, I am pursuing a Masters in Catholic Theology with the Augustine Institute. I am still in the process of figuring out what’s next for me, but in the meantime, you can find me lettering all the words that pierce my heart over @__takecourage on Instagram.

Lastly, if there’s one message I hope to share by my life, it’s this: live courageously in the truth that you are loved.
